There are many types of illustrations you can choose from. Some being Retro style, retro style is a combine wood grain and halftone textures with basic shapes. Another style is Vintage, Vintage gives your image a older feel, I see that a lot of Vintage illustrations have a limit of color and have a font or image that everyone is familiar with. Remember that illustrations are visual matter used to clarify or decorate a text.
